Watterson Construction received the Contractor of the Year Award from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers as a result of our innovation in safety demonstrated during construction of the FTW284 Barracks Complex at Ft. Wainwright, AK in 2008.
The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers – Alaska District Celebrate Safety Program nominates contractors who complete a year of active contract work with an overall job frequency rate that meets or exceeds the districts goal for that year. We have received the Celebrate Safety Award on 30% of our projects.
Watterson Construction was the first general contractor to be accepted to the AK-OSH Construction Health and Safety Excellence voluntary participant program. We have a great working relationship with the AK-OSH and we utilize their services to assess the safety of our workers.
Watterson Construction received the Platinum level of the Associated Builders and Contractors Safety Training Evaluation Process Award during 2001-2005, and 2008-2009. In 2006 & 2007 Watterson Construction was awarded the Gold Level.
Watterson Construction was a recipient of the 2009 ABC National Safety Excellence Award. This award is given to an elite group of 15 contractors nationwide to recognize their innovative approach to safety.
